How to Create a Relaxing Nightime Routine
Sleep: we all feel so much better when we have a good night of it, but it can be surprisingly difficult to drift off and have a full night of uninterrupted slumber. With daily stresses and strains and ever-increasing busy lifestyles, we often spend those precious hours of rest evaluating the day, mentally compiling to-do lists or worrying about things out of our control. Sound familiar? The first step to a good night’s sleep is establishing a relaxing nighttime routine, helping you to wind down and fully switch off before bed. Here are our (tried and tested) relaxation techniques for sleep.
SWITCH OFF (PHYSICALLY)
We’re all guilty of mindlessly scrolling through our phones, firing off a late-night email or binging on Netflix well into the evening but this tech overload could be affecting the quality of your sleep. Switch off all devices after 9pm if possible and give your mind a rest – after all, you’ve spent all day working hard so you deserve to disconnect for the evening. Not only that, but gadgets like phones, computers and TVs emit blue light, which interrupt the brain’s natural sleep signals.
Use your evenings to have some ‘me time’, relax and look after your skin as well as your mental wellbeing. A warm CBD bubble bath will help you to stop and unwind – try one of our scented versions for extra relaxation. Pop a face mask on too – not only do they have specific skin care benefits, but they take a good 10-15 minutes to work, forcing you to do nothing but sit back, relax and let it work its magic.
CREATE A PEACEFUL SLEEPING ENVIRONMENT
The ideal sleeping environment is cool, dark and quiet. Dim the lights in your bedroom and light a calming Urban Re-leaf candle such as the Calming Lily or My Oud (this intoxicating fragrance creates an almost-instant relaxing atmosphere). Get into bed with a good book (remember, no screens).

Happy Holidays! If you're still searching for the perfect gift for friends and family who love the cannabis/ hemp world, here’s my holiday gift guide featuring the best cannabis cookbooks, accessories, infused eats, and infusion devices out now.
An old wives’ tale has long promised that a few drops of lavender oil sprinkled on a pillowcase is a passport to swift slumber. We don’t dispute the effect but prefer our olfactory calm-down to take a more sophisticated form, namely a moment of mindfulness spent in the company of our favourite fragrance and with the updated version with cannabis essential oils.
Fortunately, lavender or cannabis essential oils aren't the only notes lauded for its ability to help one unwind, as vanilla, sandlewood and jasmine are all known to have a similar effect.
